The story
Power Mining started in Latvia in 2017 as a builder of bitcoin mining containers; by its own count it has delivered more than a hundred. In 2022 it added its own power distribution units (PDUs) for mining sites, and since late 2024 the team has also built open-source home miners: the Bitaxe Gamma and the NerdQaxe++, from 1.1 to 6 TH/s, alongside Canaan's Avalon home miners. Everything ships from Latvia, so there are no import duties within the EU, and prices are in euros. According to Power Mining, part of every miner sold goes to Open Source Miners United, the community behind this hardware. The downside: the warranty is 90 days and covers manufacturing defects only, and you pay to send a return back. And a home miner of this size is a lottery miner: plan around your electricity cost, not around a payout.
