The story
Kraken Pro is the trading platform of Kraken, the exchange Jesse Powell founded in 2011, partly in response to the Mt. Gox collapse. Kraken publishes regular Proof of Reserves audits and has operated in Europe under a MiCA licence from the Central Bank of Ireland since 2025; futures and options run through a separate MiFID entity in Cyprus. Pro is built for active traders: an order book, maker/taker fees that fall as your volume grows, and advanced order types.
