PC electricity cost calculator
Pick a GPU or miner, or enter the wattage yourself. The electricity price is preset to the average in your country according to Eurostat; enter your own rate to see what you really pay.
Prefilled: the average household price according to Eurostat, second half of 2025.
What it costs
- Per hour0.3 kWh
- €0.09
- Per day1.2 kWh
- €0.35
- Per month36.5 kWh
- €10.58
- Per year438 kWh
- €127.02
Rule of thumb: every 10 watts running around the clock adds up to 87.6 kWh a year. At €0.29 per kWh, that is €25.40 a year.
Where the figures come from
- GPUs: the power NVIDIA states for the whole card under full load. In everyday use a card draws less, and much less when idle. The rest of the PC comes on top.
- Home miners: the consumption the manufacturer states, as in our device guide.
- PC or mini PC: measure it with a plug-in power meter. What the manufacturer states (TDP) is the processor's design power, not a measurement at the wall socket.
Questions about power consumption
How much electricity does a PC use per day?
Multiply the power in watts by the number of hours and divide by 1,000 to get the consumption in kWh. A PC that draws 300 watts on average and is on for 4 hours a day uses 1.2 kWh a day. The best way to find out what your PC draws is to measure it with a plug-in power meter.
What does it cost to run a device around the clock?
Every 10 watts running continuously adds up to 87.6 kWh a year. A 140-watt miner such as the Avalon Nano 3 therefore comes to 1,226 kWh a year. Enter your own electricity price above to see the amount.
How much power does a GPU use?
Under full load, roughly what the manufacturer states as the power of the whole card. For NVIDIA that ranges from 115 watts (RTX 4060) to 575 watts (RTX 5090). In everyday use it is less, and much less when idle; the rest of the PC comes on top.
Why doesn't my mini PC's stated power match my bill?
Manufacturers often quote the processor's design power (TDP). That is not a measurement at the wall socket: actual consumption can be higher or lower. Measure it with a plug-in power meter and enter that figure above.
