The story
Blockstream was founded in 2014 by a group that included Adam Back and Pieter Wuille, two names long tied to the bitcoin software itself. The company builds infrastructure for bitcoin: the Liquid sidechain, the Lightning implementation Core Lightning and the Jade hardware wallets. The Jade Plus arrived on 3 January 2025 with a larger, brighter display and a better camera, so you can sign transactions via QR codes without the wallet ever touching a computer. Hardware and firmware are open source. The wallets support bitcoin and Liquid assets only; if you want to hold other coins, look elsewhere. Prices are in dollars and, according to the shipping policy, import duties are the buyer's.
