2. What data we process
- Contact and partner forms: name, email address and the content of your message.
- Account (optional): email address for access to the admin panel.
- Technical data: anonymised click statistics on promo codes (without IP or personal data) and cookie consents for GDPR accountability.
- Newsletter: your email address, only after double opt-in (confirmation by email). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter; your address is then deleted.
3. Cookies and affiliate tracking
Our site itself only places functional cookies needed to run the site (such as your cookie choice and possibly a login session). We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
Important: we earn from affiliate and referral partnerships with crypto platforms. When you click a button or link leading to an external platform (for example an exchange or broker), that platform may place a tracking cookie on your device. This allows the platform to measure that your visit came via CryptoCode.nl, for which we may receive a commission. These cookies fall under the responsibility and privacy policy of the platform concerned.
By clicking an affiliate link, you agree to the possible placing of these tracking cookies by third parties. Want to prevent this? Then visit the platform directly via a new browser window or use a private mode.
Read more in our cookie policy.
4. Purpose and legal basis for processing
We only process personal data for the following purposes, each on the corresponding legal basis under Article 6 GDPR:
- Answering contact and partner requests: on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating with visitors and partners (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); for partnerships, also the performance of pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Sending the newsletter: solely on the basis of your consent via double opt-in (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Measuring the popularity of deals (anonymised) and improving and securing the site: on the basis of our legitimate interest in a secure, well-functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Functional cookies and affiliate tracking: functional cookies are necessary to run the site (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); tracking by external platforms only takes place with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
5. Sharing with third parties
We never sell your data. We only share data with processors needed to provide the service (such as our hosting and email provider). Appropriate processing agreements have been concluded with these parties.
6. Retention periods
We do not keep personal data longer than necessary. Messages via the contact form are kept for a maximum of 24 months.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of your data, and the right to object to processing. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. To exercise your rights, send a message via our contact form. You can also always file a complaint with the data protection authority.
8. Changes
We may amend this privacy policy. The most up-to-date version can always be found on this page.
