OKX and Bybit change their welcome bonus
OKX has dropped the €5 for a first trade: cash now starts at €25,000 of trading volume. Bybit scraps its €10 card bonus. What is left after fees.
OKX and Bybit have changed their welcome offers for new customers. At OKX the €5 for a first trade is gone: cash now starts at €25,000 of trading volume. At Bybit the €10 card bonus has been dropped and the cashback runs up to €120 instead of €110. We read the new terms on the exchanges' own sites on 8 October 2026.
What changed
The previous check was on 7 September for OKX and on 15 August for Bybit.
OKX: what are you left with?
The voucher in the first tier is not cash. It is credit for a single leveraged futures position; only any profit is yours, and you cannot withdraw it. Futures are risky.
To get the cash you have to trade, and trading costs money. On a regular account OKX charges 0.20% when your order rests in the order book and 0.35% when it is filled straight away. If you open a derivatives (X-Perps) account at OKX, you pay 0.08% and 0.10% on spot.
At the regular rates only the first tier pays: €37.50 to €75. Above that you pay more in fees than you get back, unless you would trade that volume anyway. At the 0.10% rate you are left with €100 at every tier.
Three things to know:
- The offer page does not say whether the amounts add up. OKX says the amount can differ per user; you will see your exact amounts in the app under Rewards once you have signed up.
- Zero-fee pairs such as USDC/EUR do not count as trading volume.
- A crypto reward stays locked for up to 45 days: you can trade with it, but not withdraw it.
Bybit: cashback only
At Bybit everything now depends on what you spend with the Bybit Card. You get 10% back for thirty days, up to €120. For the full amount you have to spend €1,200 in those thirty days, and only on transport, fashion, restaurants, beauty, travel, airlines and hotels. Spend €300 and you get €30. On top of that, Bybit refunds subscriptions such as Netflix or ChatGPT in full, up to €50.
The conditions:
- you have never had a Bybit Card;
- your card was approved on or after 20 August 2026;
- you top up €100 within thirty days of approval;
- you enrol separately on Bybit's promotion page;
- you live in the European Economic Area, outside Malta.
The cashback arrives as points, which Bybit converts into USDC or BTC. The separate BTC welcome reward has ended.
Who is it still for?
- You already trade €25,000 or more: then OKX is a windfall of about €100.
- You like paying with a crypto card: Bybit, if your spending falls in the categories listed.
- You are starting small: Finst gives €20 of trading fees back with code FINST20, until 31 October. Kraken gives back 10% of your trading fees.
All offers side by side are in our comparison of welcome bonuses.
A bonus is no reason to invest, or to trade more than you had planned. Crypto can fall sharply in value and you can lose your entire stake.
Disclosure: the links to these exchanges and the codes belong to our partner programmes. If you sign up through a link or with a code, CryptoCode receives a commission; you do not pay more.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still get €5 for a first trade at OKX?

What is an X-Perps Voucher?
Credit from OKX for a single leveraged futures position. You cannot withdraw the voucher; only any profit is yours.
Does the new Bybit offer apply if I already have the card?
No. The offer is for people who have never had a Bybit Card and whose card was approved on or after 20 August 2026.
