How is Lite different from regular Kraken Prop?

The regular Kraken Prop plans are for crypto, with up to 5x leverage, a daily loss limit and a static drawdown. A 50,000-dollar account costs 180 to 400 dollars there. Lite is cheaper for the same size but works differently: you trade indices instead of crypto, with eight times the leverage, and the loss limit moves up with your peak balance.

That last point matters. A trailing drawdown of 1,500 dollars is 3% of the starting balance. If you first make 2,000 dollars in profit, your floor is no longer 48,500 but 50,500 dollars. And with 40x leverage your balance moves fast: a 0.1% drop in the index on a 2-million-dollar position already costs 2,000 dollars.

What to know before you pay

  • Not MiCA. Kraken Prop is offered by Payward Oceanic Ltd in the British Virgin Islands. Kraken itself calls it an unregulated service.
  • Simulated. You do not hold real positions. The payouts are real, based on your simulated result.
  • No refund. You do not get the 139 dollars back once you start trading, not even if you fail. Kraken itself writes that most candidates do not pass on their first attempt.
  • Discount. Our code CRYPTOCODES gives 2% off, Lite included: 2.78 dollars on the 139-dollar evaluation.

The full terms are on our Kraken Prop Lite offer page. We compare the regular plans and Kraken Funded in Kraken Prop, Funded or Breakout.
