Trade Republic: MiCA status October 2026

Trade Republic Bank GmbH is a bank, so it does not need a separate CASP authorisation: it notified its crypto services to BaFin under the procedure for banks, on 28 April 2025 according to the ESMA register. The notification covers 30 countries, the Netherlands included.

Banks, investment firms and certain other institutions that already hold an authorisation do not need a separate CASP authorisation. They notify their crypto services to their competent authority in advance (Art. 60 MiCA) and then appear in the same ESMA register.
