OKX has changed its welcome offer for new customers in Europe once again. On 7 November 2026 the offer page ‘Trade more, earn more’ shows six tasks instead of five tiers: €50 for verifying your identity, €50 for a €100 deposit, and €50 to €100 for trading volume from €1. Together that comes to €400; in October, €400 was the amount of the top tier. The big difference: every reward is now an X-Perps Voucher, a credit for a single futures position, and not cash.

OKX welcome bonus in short

  • Six tasks, €400 in total: verify your identity, deposit €100, and trade €1, €1,000, €10,000 and €50,000.
  • Vouchers only: on 8 October OKX still paid cash from €25,000 of trading volume. Now every task earns an X-Perps Voucher.
  • Much lower thresholds: the top task asks for €50,000 of trading volume; the previous version asked for €300,000.
  • What it costs: if you complete all six tasks, you pay €175 in trading fees at the regular rate of 0.35%, in cash; if each task counts separately, €213.50.
  • A voucher is one position: with at most five times leverage, and you can only withdraw any profit after making a deposit.
  • No end date: OKX gives no end date, and according to the terms the amount may differ from user to user.

What changed since 8 October

We last read the offer on 8 October; at the time we wrote about how OKX and Bybit changed their welcome bonus. When OKX changed the tasks after that is not stated on the page.

The offer is only for new users in the EEA who sign up through a designated channel, such as a partner link. According to the terms, anyone who signs up without such a link does not get the bonus, even after completing every task. Zero-fee trading pairs, such as USDC/EUR and USDT/USDC, do not count as trading. An internal transfer from another OKX user does not count as a deposit. Our OKX referral code page sums up the tasks and the terms, with the cost of each task.

What is an X-Perps Voucher?

According to OKX's terms, the voucher is ‘not currency’: you cannot withdraw it or transfer it. It gives you the right to open one position in perpetual futures, a derivative that tracks the price of a coin. The voucher is issued by OKX Markets Europe Ltd. These are the rules:

  • One position, in one go: you put the whole amount into a single order. You cannot use part of it or keep it for later.
  • At most five times leverage. According to the terms, the value of the voucher equals the value of the position, after leverage.
  • Your own money stays out of it. You cannot add funds, and a loss never goes beyond the voucher. If the price moves far against you, OKX closes the position.
  • Closing only in one go, with a market order; you cannot take partial profit.
  • An end date for each voucher. The term is shown on the voucher card in the app. If the position is still open at the end, OKX closes it automatically at the price at that moment. You get a reminder 24 hours and one hour beforehand.
  • Profit only after a deposit. If you make a profit, it goes to your own USDC account, but you can only withdraw it once you have made the deposit OKX asks for at that time. The voucher itself expires once it has run its course.

The welcome bonus terms also say that a crypto reward is locked for up to 45 days. You can trade with it during that time, but not withdraw it. With vouchers this matters less: you cannot withdraw them anyway.

What it costs and what you keep

The first two tasks cost nothing: verifying your identity and depositing €100 (that stays your own money). For the other four you have to trade, and trading costs money. On a regular account OKX charges 0.20% when your order rests in the order book and 0.35% when it is filled straight away. With an X-Perps account that is 0.08% and 0.10% on spot.

Trading volumeVoucherFees at 0.35%Fees at 0.20%Fees at 0.10%
€1€50less than €0.01less than €0.01less than €0.01
€1,000€50€3.50€2€1
€10,000€100€35€20€10
€50,000€100€175€100€50

Here is the sum for anyone who completes everything. If the volume adds up, as the tasks suggest, then at €50,000 you have also passed the three lower thresholds. At 0.35% you then pay €175 in trading fees. Against that you get six vouchers worth €400 in total, €300 of which come from the trading tasks.

The difference from October is large. Back then the first cash tier of €125 already cost €87.50 in trading fees at 0.35%, and the top tier of €400 cost €1,050. If the volume adds up, €1,000 of trading volume, for €3.50, now already gets you €100 in vouchers.

But you pay in cash and get a voucher in return. What a €50 voucher brings you depends on a single futures position: a profit, nothing, or the loss of the whole voucher. If you trade only for the vouchers, the fees are certain and the return is a maybe.

What does this mean for you as a European investor?

One offer for the whole EEA. The terms apply to new users in the EEA, after verification by OKX. No individual country is named. The terms do say that levels, amounts and requirements may differ by jurisdiction, period and ‘user segment’. What you actually get is shown in the app after you sign up, under Rewards > Welcome rewards.

The licence. ESMA's MiCA register lists OKX Europe Limited, licensed by the Maltese regulator MFSA since 27 January 2025 and with a passport for the whole EEA (ESMA list of 5 November 2026, see our MiCA register). According to the terms, the voucher comes from a different OKX entity, OKX Markets Europe Ltd. How OKX works in practice, with its fees and licences, is covered in our OKX review.

Tax. A profit made with the voucher is a profit on futures, and the tax on it differs from country to country. In the Netherlands crypto falls under box 3; elsewhere a profit on derivatives may be taxed differently from a price gain on a coin. Check the rules for your country in our overview of crypto tax in Europe.

Futures are risky. The voucher limits the loss to the voucher itself, but if you go on to trade futures yourself after the offer, with your own money and leverage, you can lose more than you put into that position.

What is not certain yet

  • The 250 USDC cap. The X-Perps Voucher terms say: ‘The maximum Voucher Amount per user is 250 USDC.’ The six tasks add up to €400. Whether that cap applies to each voucher or to all vouchers together is not stated.
  • Euros or USDC. The offer page shows amounts in euros, while the voucher terms count in USDC.
  • Adding up the volume. Whether ‘trade at least €10,000’ means your total volume or comes on top of the lower tasks is not stated on the page.
  • Since when. Somewhere between 8 October and 7 November; OKX gives no date.
  • Other campaigns. The terms of OKX's 8% deposit bonus, which according to the offer page ends on 13 November, say you can take part in only one campaign at a time. Whether that also applies to the welcome bonus, the welcome bonus terms do not say.

This article is not investment advice. Crypto can fall sharply in value and you could lose everything you put in.
