Dogecoin & Litecoin mining at home: 3 Scrypt miners compared
Fluminer L2, ElphaPex DG Home 1 or VolcMiner D1 Mini? What they cost, how much power they draw and what they earn in DOGE and LTC.

On 2 November 2026 MineShop lists three Scrypt miners for the home as bestsellers on its site: the Fluminer L2 (€549.87), the ElphaPex DG Home 1 (€749.87) and the VolcMiner D1 Mini (€899.87), all excluding VAT. They mine litecoin and dogecoin at the same time, and the code CRYPTOCODES takes a further 3% off. The electricity bill is what decides it: at the average EU price of €0.28 per kWh, the power costs four to six times what the coins bring in.
Scrypt miners in short
- Two coins at once: Scrypt is litecoin's algorithm. Dogecoin is tied to it through merged mining, so the same hashrate counts on both networks if your pool supports that.
- Earnings: at the prices and difficulty of 2 November, 1 GH/s yields an average of 4.28 DOGE and 0.0013 LTC a day, together about €0.34.
- Breaking even: that only happens at €0.05 to €0.06 per kWh. The lowest Eurostat price across our editions is €0.2367 (Portugal).
- Most efficient and quietest: the D1 Mini and the L2 sit at 227 and 230 J/GH, the DG Home 1 at 295 J/GH. The L2 makes the least noise, 40 dB.
- Delivery: of these three, only the L2 carried the ‘Ships in 24h’ label, and just 1 was left. For the other two, ask about the delivery time first.
- Warranty: the shop mentions a 180-day manufacturer's warranty. As a consumer in the EU you also have at least 2 years of legal guarantee.
The three models side by side
The Fluminer L2 is the smallest step: 230 watts is roughly a small space heater, and it is the only one of the three with Wi-Fi. Fluminer itself quotes 1.2 GH/s at 280 W, while MineShop sells it as 1 GH/s at 230 W. The efficiency is almost the same; we calculate with the shop's lower figures.
The ElphaPex DG Home 1 is the cheapest per GH/s, but it also uses the most power per GH/s. At the same electricity price it costs 24% more to run than the D1 Mini, while delivering less hashrate. The maker quotes 630 W, the shop 620 W.
The VolcMiner D1 Mini is the most compact at 18 × 20 × 14 cm and the most efficient per GH/s. There is no discount on it. Two things from the shop's own product description: the noise is about 50 dB but can climb to about 75 dB at full fan speed, and whether a power supply is included can vary per batch. Check that before you order.
If you just want to take part, look at the Hammer DC04: 210 MH/s, 80 W, €369.87 and in stock with the ‘Ships in 24h’ label, but it costs €1,761 per GH/s. The Nexus L1 from our review is now listed at MineShop as no longer available.
What they earn: the sums
Your earnings follow from your share of the network. Litecoin is at a difficulty of 98.6 million, which works out at about 2.82 PH/s, with a block of 6.25 LTC every 2.5 minutes. Dogecoin is at 47 million, about 3.37 PH/s, with a block of 10,000 DOGE every minute. With prices of €48.33 per LTC and €0.0662 per DOGE, at the EU electricity price of €0.2832 per kWh, that gives:

This is before pool fees and without the transaction fees in a block, and the purchase price is not included yet. More than 80% of the earnings come from dogecoin. That helps in the long run: dogecoin keeps 10,000 DOGE per block, while the litecoin reward halves to 3.125 LTC at block 3,360,000, estimated around the end of July 2027.
MineShop has its own calculator on every product page, with estimates from hashrate.no. It defaults to €0.05 per kWh, which is why the DG Home 1 shows a profit of +€0.17 a day there. Enter your own electricity price and that reverses. The estimated earnings for the DG Home 1 (€0.91) and the D1 Mini (€1.00) are 26% and 32% above our sums, possibly because hashrate.no also counts other Scrypt coins. For the L2 the calculator shows the same €0.91 as for the DG Home 1, which delivers more than twice the hashrate. That does not look right, so run your own numbers:

As of 2 November 2026: litecoin difficulty 98.6 million, dogecoin 47 million; €48.33 per LTC, €0.0662 per DOGE. Excluding pool fees and transaction fees. Hashrate and power draw according to MineShop.
There is one situation in which the sums come out differently: if you use the heat. Every watt becomes heat. If you would otherwise heat a room electrically with an ordinary heater, you are paying for that electricity during the heating season anyway. With gas or a heat pump it is different; you can work that out in the heat calculator.
Solo mining: here a block is within reach
At a regular pool you get a small amount every day. Solo you get nothing until you find a whole block: 10,000 DOGE (about €662) or 6.25 LTC (about €302). On average that pays the same, minus pool fees; the difference lies in how the payouts are spread over time. Unlike with bitcoin, the chance with a home miner is not negligible:
On our solo pool you mine litecoin and dogecoin together on one port. The reward goes straight to your own address, and the pool keeps 1%. For bitcoin and bitcoin cash, see our article on SHA-256 home miners.
What does this mean for you as a European buyer?
Electricity. This is what each model costs per year in electricity when running continuously, at Eurostat's household prices (first half of 2026, consumption of 2,500 to 5,000 kWh a year, including taxes):
VAT. The amounts in this article exclude VAT. On the product card MineShop also shows a price including 23% VAT, €676.34 for the L2. For an online purchase as a consumer, the rate of your own country usually applies in the EU: in the Netherlands the L2 with the code comes to €645.38 including 21% VAT. Check the amount at checkout.
Warranty and returns. MineShop mentions a 180-day manufacturer's warranty. According to the EU, as a consumer you always have at least 2 years of legal guarantee from the seller, and a commercial guarantee cannot limit that right. According to the shop, you can return an item because you changed your mind within 14 days if the packaging is still sealed; an opened ASIC cannot be returned. Report a defect on arrival within 3 working days, with video. The shop adds that your statutory rights continue to apply.
Shipping. Most orders come from Ireland and Latvia, with no customs within the EU, and according to the shop take 1 to 2 working days by express or 2 to 6 working days by economy.
Tax. What you mine can count as income, and the rules differ per country. See crypto and tax in Europe.
The code. Enter CRYPTOCODES at checkout; the terms are on the page about the MineShop discount code.
What is not certain yet
- Delivery time of the DG Home 1 and the D1 Mini. You can put them in your cart, but they have no delivery label and the page's product data says ‘OutOfStock’.
- The real hashrate of the L2. The maker and the shop quote different figures; you only know what your unit achieves once it is running.
- The power supply of the D1 Mini. According to the product description, that can vary per batch.
- The code on the sale price. In August the 3% came on top of the sale price. Whether that applies to every model, you will see in the cart.
- Price and difficulty. All earnings apply to 2 November 2026. If the dogecoin price doubles, earnings rise by more than 80%; a higher difficulty lowers them.

Frequently asked questions
Can you still make a profit mining dogecoin at home?
Not at a normal electricity price. On 2 November 2026 the break-even point was around €0.05 to €0.06 per kWh, while households in the EU pay €0.28 on average. It can work out with your own electricity that you would otherwise not use, or if you need the heat.
Which Scrypt miner is the most efficient?
Of these three, the VolcMiner D1 Mini at 227 J/GH, closely followed by the Fluminer L2 at 230 J/GH. The ElphaPex DG Home 1 is at 295 J/GH.
What is merged mining?
You do the work once, but it counts on two networks. Litecoin and dogecoin both use Scrypt, so your pool can use the same work for both and you receive both coins.
How much dogecoin does 1 GH/s earn per day?
On average 4.28 DOGE and 0.0013 LTC a day, at the difficulty of 2 November 2026 and before pool fees.
Is there a discount code for MineShop?
Yes, CRYPTOCODES gives 3% off at checkout. The shop's prices exclude VAT; VAT and shipping are added at checkout.
