Buying a hardware wallet at BTC Direct Shop: 11 brands

BTC Direct Shop sells hardware wallets from eleven brands, from €49 for a Ledger Nano S Plus to €359 for a Passport Prime. The company behind the shop is Aurum Novum I B.V. (Dutch Chamber of Commerce number 80066720, Kerkenbos 1025 in Nijmegen), which also trades under the name Cryptomaan.

That is a different legal entity from BTC Direct Europe B.V. (Chamber of Commerce number 59383607), the broker that has held a MiCAR authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider from the AFM since 18 June 2025. Read that authorisation as a seal of approval for the web shop and you have read it wrong. Almost every coupon site covering this shop does exactly that, which is why this article opens with two company numbers rather than a price.

Why the distinction matters

A MiCAR authorisation governs who may hold money and crypto on your behalf: capital requirements, segregation of client assets, a complaints procedure, disclosure duties. A web shop selling a physical device holds nothing of yours. It does not need that authorisation, and it does not have one.

What protects you at a web shop is ordinary consumer law: a cooling-off period, a warranty on a sound product, and a registered address a complaint can go to. Less exotic than an authorisation, but it is what applies here. Which providers in Europe do hold a MiCA authorisation is set out in our register.

What the shop stocks

Eleven hardware wallet brands: Ledger, Trezor, BitBox02, Blockstream Jade, Keystone 3 Pro, NGRAVE ZERO, OneKey, Passport, SafePal, SecuX and Tangem.

Alongside wallets there are metal seed backups — since 2023 also under the shop's own SOLIDHODL brand — plus books, accessories, nodes, miners, courses and a second-hand section.

Shipping: read the stock line, not the cut-off time

Free shipping from €60. What the shop charges below that appears only in the basket; we could not establish that rate. Order before 23:00 on a working day and the parcel goes out the same day with PostNL.

That promise covers only what is in stock, and this is where the caveat sits. Almost every item carries the line "new stock: 1-10 working days". So the line that determines your delivery time is on the product page, not on the home page. The cut-off itself also differs per language edition: 23:00 on the Dutch one, 19:00 on the German, 15:00 on the English, French and Spanish.

Returns: the seal is the cut-off point

Fourteen days to change your mind, then fourteen days to send the parcel back, free of charge. One exception, and it is absolute: once the seal on a hardware wallet is broken, returning it is out.

That is not a trick. A wallet that has been opened may have been tampered with — with a pre-loaded recovery phrase, your holdings are gone the moment you start using the device. A seller who takes opened devices back and resells them passes that risk to the next buyer. The buyer simply needs to know it before opening the box, not after.

There is a warranty page, but it names no term. How long the warranty runs, we could not establish.

Payment

iDEAL, Bancontact, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and PayPal, plus bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin.

Discount code: there is none

BTC Direct Shop does not work with discount codes. It does run shop promotions that apply automatically in the basket, including bundle discounts from €25, at percentages that vary from period to period. External coupon sites advertise "30% off at BTC Direct Shop". That figure appears nowhere on the shop itself, and we do not repeat it. What is currently verified is on our offer page.

Does the shop deliver to your country?

The shop runs six language editions: Dutch, English, German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. It publishes no list of the countries it ships to. So do not treat the language of the page as proof of delivery: enter your address in the basket and check whether a shipping method appears before going any further.

WebwinkelKeur records 9.3 out of 10 across more than 4,500 reviews. BTC Direct acquired Cryptomaan on 1 September 2020 and opened its own web shop in October of that year, so the two names point to the same business.

Frequently asked questions

Does BTC Direct Shop hold a MiCA authorisation?

No, and a web shop does not need one. The authorisation of 18 June 2025 is held by BTC Direct Europe B.V., the broker. The shop is Aurum Novum I B.V. and sells hardware.

Can I return a hardware wallet if I do not like it?

Only while the seal is intact. Fourteen days to change your mind plus fourteen days to return, free of charge — but an opened device stays yours.

Is there a discount code for BTC Direct Shop?

No. The shop promotions apply automatically in the basket; there is no code to look for.

How fast is delivery?

If the item is in stock and you order before 23:00 on a working day, it ships the same day with PostNL. If it says "new stock: 1-10 working days", that is the term that applies.
