• Practical use: Bitcoin is digital, divisible and can be sent worldwide in seconds. Gold is physical, tangible and harder to transport.
• Form: gold also has industrial applications; Bitcoin is purely digital.

More and more institutional parties see Bitcoin as a complement to gold in a diversified portfolio — not as a direct replacement. The arrival of Bitcoin ETFs moreover made it easier for large investors to step in, which strengthened the ‘digital gold’ narrative.
