Over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin has again fallen below the psychological €70,000 mark. The decline follows a series of reports about rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, prompting investors worldwide to shed riskier assets.

On the largest trading platforms, hundreds of millions of euros in long positions were liquidated in a short time. That amplified the downward move and caused a temporary drop to below €68,500 before a slight recovery set in.

Analysts point out that volatility will remain high for now. As long as the tensions persist, traders are looking mainly to the bond and gold markets as a barometer. Over the slightly longer term, inflows into spot ETFs and the approaching halving remain important fundamental factors that support the price.

For Dutch investors this mainly means: do not react in panic to isolated news moments and align positions with your own risk appetite.
