In early June 2026, Bitcoin took a significant hit. After opening around €67,000 at the start of the month, BTC currently trades around €56,000. That is a drop of more than 15% in a short time and one of the weakest periods since July 2024.

Main causes

  • Record outflows from spot Bitcoin ETFs – the largest monthly outflow of 2026 so far.
  • Whales and long-term holders reducing positions.
  • A technical break below important support levels, including the 200-day moving average.

Ethereum follows the pattern and trades around €1,650–€1,750. The broader crypto market is under pressure while traditional stocks and AI-related stocks set new records.

Still, some analysts point to accumulation by smart investors during this dip. Historically, strong rebounds often follow corrections like this, but there are no guarantees.
