Kraken cashback 2026: 10% of your trading fees back
Sign up to Kraken through our link and get 10% of your trading fees back, in the app and on Kraken Pro, across the EEA. What it is worth in euros, Kraken's conditions, and which Kraken promotions do not apply here.

Anyone who signs up to Kraken through our link gets 10% of their trading fees back. That applies to the regular Kraken app and to Kraken Pro, because it is one account, and it applies across the European Economic Area. The terms sit with Kraken; below is what we checked, what the cashback is worth in euros, and which Kraken promotions from abroad do not apply here.
We receive a payment from Kraken if you open an account through our link. That changes nothing about what you pay or get back.
What you actually get
The cashback is a percentage of the trading fees you yourself pay to Kraken, not a fixed amount and not a bonus in crypto. Pay €50 in fees in a month and €5 comes back. Pay nothing and you get nothing.
How much that is in practice depends on where you trade. As we established on 21 August in Kraken fees 2026: 1% in the app, 0.40% on Pro, the regular app charges 1% on an instant purchase and 1.5% on a custom order; Kraken Pro charges 0.40% as maker and 0.80% as taker in the lowest volume tier.
The table shows the catch: 10% cashback does not make the app cheaper than Pro. Someone trading €10,000 a month pays €90 net in the app and €36 net on Pro with limit orders. The cashback is a discount on what you pay anyway, not a reason to trade more or to trade at a higher fee.
The conditions Kraken sets
Kraken's referral terms are public and cover all of the company's referral programmes. The cashback falls under what Kraken calls the Revenue Share plan: the referred customer receives ‘a revenue share cashback on the Referee's own eligible trading fees’. The percentage and duration are set by Kraken in the so-called Promotion Details attached to the link; for our link Kraken shows 10%. That percentage is not on a public page, so check it on the registration page before you deposit.
What the terms do fix:
- You may not have held a Kraken account before. Existing customers do not qualify, not even with a new e-mail address.
- You must verify your identity, and the document you use must come from the same country as the one you open the account in.
- The cashback is calculated on net trading fees that Kraken marks as ‘eligible’. Which products count is Kraken's decision.
- The referral programme is offered by Payward Trading Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands. The trading itself you do with Kraken's Irish entity, which holds the MiCA authorisation from the Central Bank of Ireland. Two entities, two sets of terms.
- Kraken can change or end the programme. No fixed end date has been announced.
Which Kraken promotions do not apply here
Kraken advertises worldwide with more than cashback: cover for the loss on your first futures trade, a reward box for options and a challenge with 1 bitcoin as the top prize. You see them in European search results too. In the EEA they do not apply. Kraken says so itself on the Futures Rewards support page: ‘Futures Rewards are not available for clients located in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and the EEA.’ The options box and the bitcoin challenge have no public terms page we could verify, so we do not list them as promotions.
What does apply alongside the cashback is Kraken Prop: with code CRYPTOCODES you get 2% off your first evaluation. That is a separate product from Payward Oceanic Ltd., also in the British Virgin Islands, with the caveat ‘geographic restrictions may apply’. It is independent of the cashback; you can use both.
App or Pro?
For a monthly purchase the app is enough: one button, 1% fee, cashback on top. Anyone who trades more often or moves larger amounts is better off on Pro, because the fee gap is bigger than what the cashback makes up. You do not have to choose: it is one account, and you switch between the two inside the app. The comparison with OKX and Finst is in Best crypto exchange 2026: OKX, Kraken or Finst?.
Who this is not for
If you already have a Kraken account, the link earns you nothing. If you trade once a year for €200, the cashback is €0.20 in the app and no reason to switch exchange. And if you live outside the countries where Kraken offers the app, you will not pass verification.
Frequently asked questions
Do I get the cashback on Kraken Pro as well?
Yes. Kraken Pro and the Kraken app are the same account with a different interface; the cashback is calculated on the trading fees you pay to Kraken. Kraken decides which products count as ‘eligible’.
How long does the cashback run?
Kraken names no fixed duration on a public page. The duration is in the Promotion Details attached to the link and can be changed by Kraken. Check the registration page.
Does the link work if I already have an account?
No. The terms exclude anyone who has held a Kraken account before.
Is Kraken allowed to serve me in the EU?
Yes. Kraken serves the EEA from Ireland under a MiCA authorisation from the Central Bank of Ireland; the competent authority in your own country recognises that passport.
Is the cashback taxable?
Whether a rebate on fees is taxable depends on the rules in your country; a discount on costs is usually not income. This is not tax advice; ask an adviser if in doubt.
Trading crypto is risky. You can lose your deposit. A cashback on fees changes nothing about that.
