OKX promotion August 2026: up to €400, €300 in bitcoin
OKX is giving new European users up to €400 through CryptoCode for six tasks. Of that, €300 is real money paid out in bitcoin; the last €100 is an X-Perps Voucher that opens a single position with OKX's money. We set out the amounts, the seven-day deadline and the small print.
This promotion has been replaced. The OKX bonus described in this article no longer applies. Since September 2026 the running promotion is Trade more, earn more: up to €400 in rewards, with no known end date. The current terms are on our OKX promotion page and in OKX review 2026. Last checked on 8 September 2026.
OKX is running a welcome promotion for new European users. Sign up through the CryptoCode partner link and six tasks are waiting that add up to €400. Of that amount, €300 is real money, paid out in bitcoin. The final €100 is trading credit you cannot withdraw.
The reward comes in bitcoin, not USDC
The five paid tasks pay out in bitcoin. That means the value of your reward tracks the bitcoin price from the moment it lands. Leave it where it is and you carry price risk; convert it straight away and you do not. So do not count on the figure OKX shows on the campaign page.
The €100 X-Perps Voucher is not money
The largest single item in the promotion — the €100 for identity verification — is not money. It is an X-Perps Voucher: a single perpetual futures position you open with OKX's money, €20 margin at five times leverage, together worth a €100 position. OKX itself writes that the voucher "has no monetary value outside of its designated trading use" and cannot be withdrawn.
Only the profit on that one position is yours. If the position runs at a loss you are left with nothing, but you also lose none of your own money. If it closes in profit, that profit lands in your USDC account — and to actually withdraw it you first have to make a deposit yourself. The voucher itself is voided once the position is settled.
So anyone reading that verification alone is worth €100 is reading it wrong. Without putting in money of your own, not a euro of that €100 reaches your bank account.
The six tasks and what they pay
Identity verification pays the €100 X-Perps Voucher. The five tasks after that pay in bitcoin. On the invitation page OKX shows running totals rather than the amount per task, so what an individual step pays is not stated in so many words — the breakdown below is the only one that produces all six totals:
- Activate the OKX Card and make three transactions of at least €10: €10
- Trade €200 or more: €20
- Deposit €2,000 and trade €5,000: €40
- Deposit €10,000 and trade €30,000: €80
- Deposit €30,000 and trade €100,000: €150
That comes to €300 in bitcoin, plus the €100 voucher — together the €400 OKX advertises.
The tasks are cumulative. Trade €5,000 and you clear the €200 threshold and the €5,000 one in a single move, so you collect both trading tasks: €60 rather than €40. You do not have to work through the tiers separately.
You have seven days after signing up to complete everything. That is the sharpest limit in the whole promotion: the higher tiers ask for amounts you have to deposit and turn over within a week.
What counts and what does not
Two restrictions decide whether a task counts. For the deposit tasks, only cash and crypto deposits qualify; an internal transfer between your own OKX accounts does not. For the trading tasks, only non-stablecoins count, so swapping USDT for USDC gets you no closer to the next tier.
That last point is not a detail. Stablecoin pairs have the tightest spreads and are therefore the cheapest way to generate volume. By excluding them, OKX makes sure the volume comes from real market positions.
The promotion is open only to new users who register through the partner link and complete identity verification with proof of identity and proof of address within the European Economic Area. Sub-accounts are excluded.
The 8% deposit bonus: choose, do not stack
Alongside this, OKX is running an 8% deposit bonus from 6 to 31 August 2026. A €10 deposit gets you in, the bonus runs up to a deposit of €62,500 and therefore to a maximum of €5,000 in USDC.
That amount does not arrive in one go. OKX pays it out over 52 weeks in 26 equal instalments, starting three days after the campaign closes — and your deposit has to stay put the whole time. Withdraw money and the bonus shrinks with it.
More importantly, the two promotions are not a stack. The terms of both campaigns state that you can take part in only one campaign at a time, and that if you join several, only the last one you registered for pays out. So do not assume you can combine the €400 promotion with the 8% bonus. Pick one, and check with OKX before you deposit.
OKX and MiCA
OKX serves the European market through OKX Europe, which received a MiCA authorisation from the Maltese competent authority MFSA in early 2025. That is the full CASP authorisation, which lets a platform passport its services across the entire European Economic Area, rather than a temporary national registration.
In practice that means: client funds held separately from the firm's own funds, a documented complaints procedure and a competent authority inside the EU you can turn to. It does not mean your money is guaranteed — MiCA is not a deposit guarantee scheme.
What to watch out for
The terms are set by OKX and can change; what you read here is the position on 15 August 2026. Work through the higher tiers soberly. For €150 you have to deposit €30,000 and trade €100,000. At the standard rate for a regular account — 0.20% as maker and 0.35% as taker — that volume costs €200 to €350 in trading fees. So the €150 reward does not cover those costs: you end up out of pocket. Only with an X-Perps account, where 0.08%/0.10% applies, is anything left over — and even then you have to park €30,000 on the exchange and turn over a hundred thousand euros within seven days. At this tier the trading fees really are the problem, and the capital you tie up comes on top.
What this means for you
For most readers this is a two-step promotion, not a six-step one: verify your identity, add the OKX Card if it suits you, and stop there. That is €10 in bitcoin plus a voucher that lets you try a single position without putting in money of your own. If you already trade at a European exchange, you can pick up the trading task from €200 for another €20. The rest of the ladder is there for people already generating that volume.
