Umbrel offers 10% off Home and Pro during umbrelOS 2.0 launch week

Umbrel is marking the final release of umbrelOS 2.0 — live since 22 September — with a launch week: through 29 September 2026, you get 10% off both Umbrel Home and Umbrel Pro, directly via umbrel.com. It's the first hardware discount Umbrel has tied to this release.

What the discount actually covers

Both the Umbrel Home and Umbrel Pro product pages carry the same banner: "Launch week — 10% off Umbrel Home & Pro until Sep 29" (source: umbrel.com/umbrel-home and umbrel.com/umbrel-pro, both checked 24 September 2026). Neither page mentions a separate discount code; as far as we could tell, the store applies the 10% automatically during checkout. We did not test this all the way through to payment ourselves — check the amount in your cart before you order.

umbrelOS 2.0 is now officially live

We previously reported that the stable release of umbrelOS 2.0 was planned for 22 September, with an open question on whether that date would actually be hit (see umbrelOS 2.0: what's new in the 22 September update). That's now confirmed: Freedom.Tech, Umbrel's parent company, published its own announcement on 22 September stating that "umbrelOS 2.0 is the biggest update we've ever shipped" (source: freedom.tech, announcement dated 22 September 2026, checked 24 September 2026). The launch week discount is clearly tied to that milestone: the release is out, and Umbrel is using the moment to draw in new buyers. What this means for the price

Umbrel Home was listed at €479 and up on 16 August, Umbrel Pro at €599 and up without SSDs, both prices reconfirmed unchanged on 17 September (source: Umbrel Pro vs. Umbrel Home). We didn't re-test those figures for this article — if they still hold, 10% off works out to roughly €431 for the entry-level Home and roughly €539 for the entry-level Pro without SSDs. That's an indication, not a confirmed current figure: check the price the configurator itself shows you before ordering.

The catch: a modest discount, and a short window

Ten percent isn't an exceptional deal — on a purchase running from several hundred to over a thousand euros, it shaves off a few tens of euros, no more. The offer also only runs until 29 September, five days from when we're publishing this. Anyone on the fence about a home server gets pressured by the deadline more than helped by it: umbrelOS itself stays free and open (under the PolyForm Noncommercial licence) for your own hardware, with or without this discount.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to enter a discount code to get the 10%?

Umbrel's product pages don't list a separate code. As far as we could tell the discount is applied automatically; we did not test this all the way through the checkout page itself.

Until when does the discount run?

Through 29 September 2026, according to the banner on umbrel.com.

Does the discount also apply to configurations with extra storage (SSDs)?

Umbrel doesn't specify. The banner refers generally to "Umbrel Home & Pro" without distinguishing by storage configuration; we did not verify this per configuration.

Is umbrelOS 2.0 now mandatory for existing Umbrel owners?

No. It's a software update for existing devices, not a new purchase — see the 17 September article for exactly what changes.
